into this beautiful ancient place
of peace to be blessed,
healed and equipped by God
for the challenges of everyday life.

WELCOME
We would like to welcome you to our service today, especially if you are a visitor. We invite you to join us at Holy Communion to receive the bread and wine, symbols of God’s love for us.  If you do not wish to receive Holy Communion, please do come up for a blessing, just keep your hands by your side as you come to the rail.  If you use a hearing aid, please put it to the “T” setting.  Please do join us for a cup of tea or coffee in the Hall after the 10 am service.

MIDWEEK COMMUNION  - During the Interregnum there will be NO Wednesday 10 am service.

PRAYER WALKS – Every 1ST Tuesday of the month -  our next walk is on 5th September and then 3rd October. Please come along with or without a dog, and we all have a good chatter, and then stop, reflect and pray at several intervals along the way, we start at 9.30 am on Commonside near the old Rectory – we often end up having a nice cup of tea/coffee!

BELL RINGING TUITION – After the 10 am service on Sunday 13th August @ 11.15 am – if you are interested in joining this team, please do come along!

MEN’S PUB SOCIAL – These happen every 3rd Wednesday of the month – and the next one is Wednesday 16th August at the Greyhound Pub @ 7.30 pm.   All men are very welcome.  More details from Martin Becker.

HEALING & WHOLENESS (H&W) - Every 3rd Sunday,  we offer healing and wholeness prayers for all who may like the benefit of a special prayer,  just after taking Communion, in the foyer.  Dates are Sundays 20th August and 17th September.  At these services we will also serve non-alcoholic grape juice to open the sacrament up to all our worshippers, especially those allergic to alcohol.

MEDITATION GROUP – Every 3rd Monday –  21st August & 18th September.  We begin at 7.30 pm in the Church or church hall.  All are very welcome, to take time out from our busy lives.

The Keston Prayer
Merciful God, as we trust in your love;
Increase our faith, feed us with your word and strengthen us
for service.  Bless our community.  Make this place holy, to heal and transform all who come.
In the precious name of Jesus our Saviour, Amen.

6TH August – Transfiguration of the Lord

Lord God, your Son left the riches of heaven
and became poor for our sake:
when we are prosperous save us from pride,
When we are poor save us from despair,
that we may trust in you alone;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

2 Peter 1:  16 - 19  (Page 938);  Luke 9:  28 - 36 (Page 791)

13th August – Trinity 9

Gracious Father, revive your Church in our day,
And make her holy, strong and faithful,
For your glory’s sake in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Genesis 37:  1 – 4, 12 - 28 (Page 31);  Romans 10:  5 – 15 (Page 846)  Matthew 14:  22 – 33  (Page 746)

20th August – Trinity 10

Lord of heaven and earth,
as Jesus taught his disciples to be persistent in prayer,
give us patience and courage never to lose hope,
but always to bring our prayers before you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Romans 11:  1 – 2A, 29 - 32 (Page 865); Matthew:  15:  21 – 28 (Page 746)

27th August – Trinity 11

God of glory, the end of our searching,
help us to lay aside all that prevents us

And to give all that we have to gain the pearl that has no price,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
